California Adventure, adjacent to Disneyland, is a strategically located Disney theme park in Anaheim, California and only an hour’s drive south of Los Angeles in Anaheim, California.
It opened its doors on February 8, 2001. Orange County’s John Wayne is the nearest airport to California Adventure Park. You can take the Disneyland Drive exit off Interstate 5 and follow the signs to the resort’s parking structure.
In 2004, Disney opened at California Adventure, a new version of the popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at Disneyland Florida. Though California Adventure still fails to draw as many visitors as that of Disneyland, the Tower of Terror gives visitors the much-needed reason to visit California Adventure.
You can have a rollicking time at California Adventure Park, anytime, any day. The influx of crowds at California Adventure is determined by the various seasons – the Park is least busy in winter, especially on weekdays.
However, as winter is the rainy season, you'll find more rides and attractions closed for repairs, or the putting up and taking down of holiday decorations, and the park is open fewer hours per day. Any school holiday or three-day weekend will be busy. Summer is the busiest period, but hours are longer and most of the attractions will be open.
California Adventure activities include a medium and high-speed roller coaster, two open air circular swings, wild river rafting, water excursion, state-of-the-art flight simulator though goggles are not included, classic Ferris wheel with a twist, mild parachute drop and "thrill seekers" only.
Height restrictions are an important criterion for the California Adventure activities. So if young children are visiting, make sure they meet the height requirements. Some of the rides include California Screaming, Golden Zephyr, Jumpin Jellyfish, Maliboomer, Mulholland Madness, Orange Stinger, Sun Wheel, Grizzly River Run and Soarin Over California.
